A disturbing incident in India was captured on CCTV on August 4.
What happened at Noida's daycare?
CCTV footage from the facility showed the attendant, identified as a nanny, repeatedly slapping, biting, throwing, and hitting the toddler with a plastic bat.
At one point, she dropped the child to the ground and struck her on the back, despite visible bite marks on the girl’s thighs and legs.
In the footage, the attendant is initially seen trying to calm the crying child with toys before briefly stepping outside and returning.
Moments later, she loses her temper and violently attacks the toddler.
According to the child’s mother, she found her daughter crying inconsolably after returning from the daycare.
Was Noida daycare's nanny arrested?
While changing her clothes, she noticed circular marks on both thighs and legs. A doctor later confirmed they were consistent with human bite marks.
The parents claim that the daycare centre’s head failed to protect or comfort the child. Instead, they allege, both the head and the nanny threatened them and used derogatory language when confronted.
Police arrested the attendant and the daycare owner, who were later released on bond.
The nanny was charged with voluntarily causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult with intent to breach the peace.

How did netizens react to daycare CCTV footage?
The now viral video angered several social media users, with some demanding that offices be equipped with nursing rooms for parents with young babies.
Seema Nair
"Some daycares and playschools provide CCTV access to the parents, where the parents can view what their kids are doing there anytime on their phone. This should be made mandatory everywhere."
Blessy Mathew Nand
"This is one of the biggest reasons why mothers don't want to work and stay with their kids. I'm one of them."
Chandrama Sarma
"Every office must have a baby care room/section with trained nurses, where parents can frequently visit and check their baby's well-being."
Anchal Sethi
"Sometimes, stepping out and leaving my child behind is one of the hardest things I have to do. It’s not just about separation—it’s about the emotional weight and the financial realities that often leave us with no choice. People may see a working mother and think it’s easy, but it’s not. It’s heartbreaking. It’s not just about eating two rotis or managing a routine—it’s about carrying the burden of responsibility, dreams, and survival all at once."

Daycare worker captured slapping baby multiple times
In another heartbreaking story, CCTV footage from Affinity Education emerged showing a daycare worker repeatedly slapping a baby in the face while the child was seated in a bouncer.
The disturbing clip captured the infant crying as the worker continued the assault, at one point ordering the child to stop crying.
Authorities said the worker later resigned, was convicted of common assault, was handed a community corrections order, and was banned from working in childcare for 12 months.
A colleague who filmed the incident also resigned from their position.
