"I also experience a hesitation in calling a place a home. I remember when I graduated from drama school, I was in New York. Being an actor, there is always uncertainty in the future. You do not know when your next job is going to come. And whether you will be able to afford the lifestyle you have. I was nervous about making my first apartment a home. I was sleeping on a mattress for a long time, and then I had a conversation with my mum," she said.

According to Lupita, her mum encouraged her to make every place she moves into a home, because of her personal experiences.
