US: 2 Aircraft Collide on Runway, Burst into Flames

US: Panic ensued at the Kalispell City Airport in Montana when two small aircraft collided on the runway, before bursting into flames.

The crash caused a massive fireball in the area.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, one of the planes, a single-engine Socata TBM 700 turboprop aircraft, had four people on board.

How did Montana plane crash occur?

It was attempting to land when it crashed into another unoccupied plane, which was already parked on the runway at around 2 pm.

The Kalispell fire chief, Jay Hagen, stated that the fire from the explosion spread to the nearby grass area, threatening to turn into a more catastrophic incident.

Black fumes billowed into the sky as first responders rushed to the scene in a bid to put the fire out.

The authorities stated that several other planes were involved, and they also caught fire as a result of the incident.

However, the fire was eventually extinguished, and normalcy was restored.

Were there any casualties in Montana plane crash?

There were no casualties as everyone on board the plane survived. TimesXP reported that the pilot and three passengers managed to escape before the plane exploded.

Two of the passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated right there at the airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that they are investigating the incident in order to establish to cause of the near-fatal crash.

One eyewitness, identified as Ron Danielson, recounted that he heard a loud bang the moment the accident happened.

"It sounded as if you were to stick your head in a bass drum and somebody smacked it as hard as they could,” Danielson said.

Planes collide at Japanese Airport

In a previous incident, at least 327 people escaped unharmed after a plane accident at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The near-fatal incident occurred after a Japan Airlines plane clipped a parked Delta Airlines plane on Wednesday, Friday, 5.

According to the authorities, the wing of the Japanese plane impaled on the tail of the Delta Jet at around 10 am.

The Delta plane issued a statement indicating that its plane, a Boeing 737, which was struck by the Japanese plane, had 142 passengers and was scheduled to fly to Puerto Vallarta in Mexico.

Fortunately, there were no casualties reported from the frightening incident. However, the passengers of a Delta plane were forced to book another plane to take them to their destinations.

On the other hand, Japan Airlines issued a statement stating that their plane, which was involved in the crash, had 172 passengers and 13 crew members on board.
