On Wednesday, June 25, many Kenyans took to the streets across the country, demanding justice for victims of police brutality and commemorating those lost during last year’s Anti-Finance Bill protest

In the Nairobi CBD, the protesters arrived in the city very early to kick off the demonstrations.

What started as peaceful demos quickly turned chaotic, leading to running battles between the cops and citizens, which only caused more harm and destruction.

Man advertises laptop atop CBD building

While chaos erupted in the streets, a young man in one of the tall buildings in the CBD decided to seize the opportunity to trend online.

He stepped out onto the balcony with a laptop and began mentioning some of its incredible features.

At the same time, one could see and hear the police and citizens in running battles, with the man clearly fearful of what was happening in the background.

He glanced from time to time to keep watch.

Suddenly, the man heard a gunshot and immediately ran back inside the building, as a woman screamed in the background.

Although the move seemed dangerous, some lauded the man for coming up with an unexpected way to advertise and trend online.

Man hides inside dustbin during protests

In other news, TUKO.co.ke reported that a man was spotted hiding inside a Nairobi County dustbin during the protests.

A video went viral on X, showing the man peeping from the bin's opening, sharing how he was scared to come out.

According to him, he witnessed the fracas between protesters and police outside and decided to seek refuge in the bin.

He was also holding a lit candle, seemingly honouring the lives of those lost during the Anti-Finance Bill protests, which were the main reason for the June 25 demonstrations.

Many who saw the video eagerly awaited the reaction of Nairobi's Chief Officer of Environment, Geoffrey Mosiria who had been upset by earlier demonstrations that led to bins being damaged and stolen.
