Popular actress Dorea Chege and her entertainer hubby DJ Dibul have caused a stir online after revealing where their political loyalties lie.

The couple, known for their interactive content on relationships and lifestyle, surprised fans in their latest YouTube episode when their conversation took a political turn.
What political camps do Dorea Chege and DJ Dibul align with?
During a light-hearted Would You Rather game, Dorea asked Dibul which political camp he would support between President William Ruto and former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, who is now a vocal opposition figure.
“Would you rather be a follower of Ruto or Riggy G?” she asked.
Dibul, without hesitation, backed Gachagua, noting he had spent time with him recently and admired his personality.
"Huyo mzee nampenda tu. You know I was with him the other day and we were having a good conversation,” Dibul said.
However, Dorea’s response took a surprising turn from her partner's.
The actress declared herself a loyal Ruto supporter and jokingly challenged her critics saying:
"Ruto any day! Nani ako na pesa kuliko Ruto? Hakuna! I choose Ruto, niwamalize nyinyi wote,” she said.
Her remarks quickly spread on social media, igniting a lively debate in the comment section.
Why did Dorea's political stance spark reactions?
Over the past year, Kenya has gone through major political changes.
On June 25, 2024, thousands of young people protested against the Finance Bill, which many felt had unfair tax plans.
The pressure from the protests pushed President Ruto to send home all his Cabinet members.
Soon after, he had a major fallout with his deputy, Gachagua, which added more tension to the political scene.
After his ouster, Gachagua launched his own political party and embarked on a spirited presidential campaign, traversing the country.
Gachagua has now emerged as Ruto's fiercest political critic, often taking calculated jabs at him and his allies, even coining humorous nicknames to refer to the president.
Meanwhile, Ruto has become largely unpopular among many despite being a darling to many before ascending to power.

In a recent video shared on Instagram, Dibul was seen receiving a call from Gachagua during a live performance in Kenya.
During the call, Gachagua told the crowd that Kenyans in the US also wanted Ruto out after one term.
He then led popular anti-government chants, and the audience joined in loudly.
