What happened to the assaulted woman?
The photos showed her before the assault and after, with her face badly swollen and barely recognisable.
The viral post included hospital documentation, a police OB number, and a P3 form to support the claims.
According to Githaiga, the message came from a concerned woman seeking help for her sister.
"My sister was assaulted by her ex-husband (baby daddy) over the weekend. He is a GSU officer and says there is nothing we can do since he comes from a wealthy family," the message read in part.
The woman further claimed to have solid evidence, including a recording of the alleged officer beating the victim as she pleaded for mercy.
"I am requesting that you post for us on Facebook and TikTok to just let it go viral to help us seek justice. As you know police can't help since it's one of their own. Let me know what would be required from our end. Please help us,” she added.

What happened after Kisii woman was assaulted for stealing flour?
Earlier this year, TUKO.co.ke covered the story of Faith Kathambi, a woman from Kisii who was assaulted on January 4, by neighbours who claimed she had stolen a packet of flour.
A heartbreaking video showed her being slapped and kicked while holding her baby.
