Titi Nagwalla, who works with DJ Darius, recalled the fateful day, saying something was off.
“Even as the show began, I could feel something wasn’t right. I had no fire. The songs were great, but deep down, I felt empty.
"DJ Darius, my brother, my colleague, was restless. His mix was off. When I gave him the mic, he was flat. He kept stepping out to take calls,” Nagwalla said.

Did DJ Darius have premonition about parents' deaths?
According to Nagwalla, Darius told him that he had a bad feeling, like something was wrong back home.
“But no one was giving him straight answers. After 11 pm, he left to check on his parents, who were on the road to Nairobi for a graduation in the family.”
How did DJ Darius break news about parents' death?
According to Nagwalla, Darius called him at midnight with the devastating news.
“Both his parents had passed away in a tragic road accident near Narok. Rest in peace to them.
"Keep DJ Darius and his family in your prayers.”
His father, Josiah Biyongo, and mother, Hellen Biyongo, died on Wednesday, August 6, when the car they were travelling in was involved in a fatal head-on collision with a truck along the Nakuru – Bomet highway.
The two were travelling to Nairobi to attend the graduation of the DJ’s brother, journalist Edwin Nyarangi.
What did DJ Darius say?
In an update, Darius said they had safely arrived in Kisii and taken their parents’ bodies to the morgue.
“This has been a painful journey, but your love has been our strength. Please bear with us if we’re unable to respond to all calls and messages right now as we take some time to breathe, reflect and support each other as a family.
God bless you all for walking with us in this difficult time,” he wrote.
