Famous Kenyan sports commentator and radio host Fred Arocho has found himself in hot soup after making a wrong football prediction.

On Sunday, August 10, Arocho predicted defeat for Kenya's national team, Harambee Stars, which played against Morocco in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 tournament.
Arocho took to his social media page and expressed regret that the national team would lose the game.
How has Harambee Stars performed in CHAN 2024?
The radio host is influential and usually engages his fans on matters of football.
But this time he was wrong as Harambee Stars beat the odds to win against Morocco, which was considered a more serious opponent than the previous two opponents, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Angola.

DRC was the first match for Harambee Stars, and they won 1-0 on Sunday, August 3.
In their second match on Thursday, August 7, Harambee Stars survived by a whisker after forcing a draw of 1-1 against Angola, with Angola's second goal in the final minutes being ruled out by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in a match where Harambee Stars played one-man-down after a red card.

Did Fred Arocho make unpatriotic prediction?
Just like many people, Arocho had guessed Harambee Stars had no chance of winning against Morocco.
"Leo nayooooo, Mtanisamehe (Today you will forgive)," Arocho wrote on Facebook.
This post was directed to his fans, who are Kenyans, and meant that Harambee Stars would lose to Morocco.
However, that was not the case as the national team stepped up and beat Morocco 1-0 at the Moi International Stadium, Kasarani.

Kenyan fans call out Fred Arocho
After the match, an angry Kenyan fan, surrounded by a group, lashed out at Arocho for his incorrect prediction as his friends cheered him on.
In a viral video, he urged Arocho to master the art of sports analysis and laughed at him, sarcastically stating that Harambee Stars won the game despite getting a red card.
"We want to tell Arocho this, he should know how to analyse games; he had predicted that Harambee Stars would be beaten. By who? We win even with a red card," one of them said as the group cheered him on.

Why did Harambee Stars player get a red card?
TUKO.co.ke previously reported about a tackle which led to Chrispine Erambo receiving a straight red card.
The Tusker star was shown the card after a VAR review for a high challenge on a Moroccan player.
