Kamau won an eye-watering KSh 424 million, but many Kenyans were in disbelief and questioned the win’s credibility.

On Wednesday, August 13, SportPesa held an event to officially unveil him as the winner.

What did Samuel Abisai tell Boniface Kamau?

Kamau shared that the very first person he reached out to after receiving news of his KSh 424 million jackpot win was his wife.

However, she was initially doubtful, thinking it might be a prank, and it took him several phone calls to finally convince her that the news was real.

Reflecting on his life, Kamau expressed deep gratitude for the stability and blessings his family has enjoyed, noting that he never lacked anything while growing up.

Even as he celebrated his windfall, he used the moment to remind Kenyans about the risks of irresponsible betting, urging them to gamble only after meeting essential needs and to remain mindful of the dangers of addiction.

Abisai, who won KSh 221 million, and the KSh 230 million winner Ogada attended the event to support Kamau.

A photo shared by Abisai showed him holding the dummy cheque alongside Kamau, Ogada, and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri.

In the caption, Abisai congratulated Kamau on the win, while throwing shade at those downplaying the win.
