Moments later, a matatu belonging to Bomet Travellers Sacco struck the damaged car from behind.

The impact set off a domino effect: the matatu, carrying passengers, was hit from the rear by a trailer, followed by another car ramming into the trailer.

A second, larger truck then trapped the car between itself and the trailer, compounding the damage. Some residents gathered at the scene as rescue efforts got underway.

At the time of this publication, the authorities had not confirmed any casualties.

He said the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) would continue with the education on traffic laws, noting that most accidents stem from non-adherence to road regulations, overspeeding, faulty vehicles, drunk driving, and reckless overtaking.
