Dennis, a Grade One pupil at Benedict Kaptich Primary School, was reported missing on May 7 after he had gone to school.
His lifeless body was discovered in a sugarcane plantation after a three-day frantic search by his family members.
The pupil’s mother, Scholastica Jesang, clearly devastated by the death of her son, noted that her son was brutally killed, and some of his body parts were missing.
Nandi mum seeks justice for her son
She shared her last moments with her son, saying she had prepared him for school, but his teachers confirmed that he was not seen at the school compound.
“He was wearing his full school uniform, gumboots, a yellow jacket, and had his school bag. We found the gumboots and bag and reported the matter to the police, but I am yet to get any response or justice for my child,” she stated.
Kaptich residents expressed their shock, noting that it was unfortunate that someone could attack and kill a pupil in the gruesome manner Dennis was murdered.
“What mistake can a seven-year-old boy make to warrant this kind of brutality? Authorities should probe this issue and find the killers, because this is not fair,” said a resident.
Another pleaded with the killers to return the deceased boy’s missing arm so he could be buried with a complete body.
Nandi North Police Commander, Samuel Muli, while confirming the incident, said investigations into the young boy’s death had commenced.
“We are still recording statements from witnesses as we also probe the matter. We call upon residents with any information that can help us find the perpetrators to come forward,” said Muli.
