Kakamega Dispensary Burns Down after Gas Blows up While Doctor Was Cooking Ugali

Kakamega county: Residents of Shinyalu in Kakamega county will now be getting service under a tree after their local dispensary got burnt down after a lunchtime fire.

According to NTV, a doctor at the dispensary was cooking ugali, and the gas cylinder he was using accidentally blew up, causing a huge fire in the neighbourhood.

How did Kakamega residents help?

When the fire started burning in earnest, residents in the neighbourhood broke into the compound of the dispensary and started helping to put it out. They were eager to help save the meds that were in the dispensary and some electronic equipment.

"This dispensary used to help us here in the village; our wives and kids used to come here to be treated," said ....
He also warned politicians who may have used the burning down of the dispensary to start politics and say that he will make it.

The dispensary works for 24 hours and has been helping even when pregnant women need to give birth at night. At the moment, the doctors will have to start taking care of their patients in tents.

A CCTV footage showing how a man and woman narrowly escaped a deadly LPG gas explosion stunned social media users.

In the heart-stopping footage, the dramatic moment the gas ignited is revealed , just seconds after the duo arrived at the scene.

Many people on social media called it a โ€œmiracle escapeโ€ and urged greater awareness of safety in the home when it comes to gas safety.
