The Form Two student at Kisii High School tragically lost his life after an accident at his home.

Antony, who was on his second term holiday like his peers, died after a tree fell on him, leaving his family, friends, and the Kisii High School fraternity in mourning.

The incident happened on August 2, and his family announced that the body would leave the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary on Monday, August 11.

He will be laid to rest at his family home in Suneka on Tuesday, August 12.

When did schools close for second term holiday?

According to the 2025 academic calendar, schools opened for the second term on April 28 and ran for 14 weeks. The term two holiday began on August 1 as per the calendar, but most schools closed between August 1 and 4.

As such, students have been enjoying their holidays for the past 10 days, and Antony was among them until he met his tragic end.

Friends, former classmates, and members of the Kisii High School community expressed shock and sadness following his demise.
