UDA MP Warns ODM against Lecturing Ruto over Police Shooting Orders: "Fungeni Mdomo"

Did ODM oppose William Ruto's directive to police?
ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna blasted Ruto, saying his remarks were reckless and that they showed the country was on the wrong trajectory.
"A state officer standing and saying you can shoot people as if people don't die from gunshot wounds. We saw Rex Masai, the young man who was killed during the protests, was shot in the leg. How can you tell police to shoot people in the leg as if those injuries are sustainable injuries? We want to make it very clear, as a country, we've totally lost our way," Sifuna said in the Senate.
The former prime minister also issued a strongly worded statement criticising Ruto's directives to the police.
In his statement, Raila said any directives to kill, maim, disorient or shock citizens are wrong, infringe on human rights, and could lead to violence.
How UDA MP criticised ODM party
However, Jhanda, in a post on X, accused Raila and his allies of attempting to direct Ruto on how to run the government.
According to the UDA lawmaker, Raila's party lacks the moral authority to criticise Ruto given it has never won any election.
"ODM should not threaten or lecture us on how to run the government or human rights issues. They have never won any elections," Jhanda said on Saturday, July 12.
Jhanda argued that ODM cannot be taken seriously in their criticism of the government unless its members resign from the broad-based Cabinet.
"If they’re uncomfortable in the Broad Based Government, Then MUHAME Mbio.. Ask your ministers to resign, and then we shall take you serious. Otherwise fungeni mdomo," he added.

Should Raila Odinga dump William Ruto?
In other news, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi appealed to the former prime minister to dump Ruto ahead of the 2027 General Election.
In a passionate public letter, Amisi called on the veteran politician to take the decisive step and reclaim his place at the helm of Kenya’s opposition.
The vocal lawmaker stated that the political deal struck between Raila and the president had left many ODM loyalists abandoned in a hostile political landscape.
Amisi, a strong critic of Ruto, argued that the Kenya Kwanza Alliance government has failed to deliver on its promises to Kenyans.
