The talented reggae star, who is part of the legendary group Morgan Heritage, recently dropped Dreams, the lead single from his latest EP, Jamaica Love.
In an exclusive chat with TUKO.co.ke, Mojo opened up about the deep meaning behind the track and how it pays tribute to his late brother, Peter Morgan.
What inspired the song Dreams?
According to Mojo, Dreams was inspired by his life journey and the many challenges he has faced along the way.
The song speaks to anyone who has ever doubted themselves.
“Dreams was born from reflection on my journey, the obstacles I’ve faced, and the resilience it took to keep going. It’s a song for anyone who’s ever been told they couldn’t make it. I wanted to remind people that no matter where you’re from, your dreams are valid," he explained.
The song blends reggae, rock, and soul influences in a style Mojo proudly calls Rasta Rock.
He explained that the fusion came naturally, as he grew up listening to a mix of musical icons from different genres.
"I’ve always been influenced by artists across multiple genres. From reggae legends to rock icons and soul poets. This blend, which I call Rasta Rock, lets me speak my truth with the emotional depth and energy the message deserves. I want listeners to feel empowered, uplifted, and ready to chase what’s calling them no matter the odds," he said.
Beyond the music, he explained that the visuals for Dreams also carry strong emotion.
The music video captures the struggle, setbacks, and wins that come with chasing goals in life.
How does Dreams honour Peter Morgan?
He shared that the full EP is a heartfelt tribute to his late brother and the Morgan family’s lasting legacy.
Mojo said working with his family members made the project feel like a true family celebration.
“This EP is steeped in family from the sound to the spirit. Peetah’s presence is in every lyric, every note. Collaborating with my sons, my nephew Jemere, and my brother Gramps made this project feel like a celebration of life and legacy. Musically, we’re carrying the torch. Emotionally, we’re healing through creation," he explained.
Which artistes will feature on Jamaican Love?
The EP also features collaborations with big names like Sizzla, Popcaan, and Chronic Law.
Mojo explained that each of the stars brought their unique energy and story, making the project feel timeless.
"Working with artists like Sizzla, Popcaan, Chronic Law, and my own family brought a dynamic edge to this project. Each collaborator brought their own story, energy, and perspective, and that elevated the EP into something truly global. It wasn’t just about features. It was about chemistry," he explained.
