"Rashid Abdalla the news anchor used to be my friend way back in Mombasa. He used to connect for us DStv cables and we would pay him at the end of the month. I don't know whether he was working with those guys or not," he said.
The man further alleged that they lost touch when he moved to South Sudan in 2008, and when he got back to the country, he was surprised to see him on TV.
He decided to reach out to Rashid via Facebook, claiming that the news anchor never responded.
Uduny wrote:
"Later on, I went to work in southern Sudan around 2008, and we lost touch with Rashid. One day, while back in the country as I was watching the news, I saw him on TV and I said wow! This is my old friend Rashid. I therefore reached out through his Facebook page since I didn't have his contact. I texted him... 'hey, Rashid, it was nice seeing you on Citizen TV. Do you still remember me?'"
He painfully remarked at the media personality ignoring him and wondered whether it was a pseudo-account.
"Let me tell you Maina... That message has never been answered four years down the lane. Yaani hawa ma-celeb forget people like this? or was it a pseudo account? When I become a celeb, I'll respond to all your messages 😂. Imfikie Rashid Abdalla of Citizen," he added.

What was Rashid's response?
Radio 47 reached out to Rashid, who trashed the man's claims, revealing that he has never worked as a cable repairman.
“Before responding because this world has its own issues. Every job has its value, but it’s very important for people to know that when I finished studying journalism in Nairobi, I came and got my first job, I was employed at a radio station… and I worked there for several months. Other jobs I did while hustling included ballot counting. Sometimes it’s disheartening to see someone say something that’s not true," he said.
The news anchor warned the man against spreading false claims on social media.
"Next time, don’t go looking for a story where there is none," he added.
Rashid said that the man's claims had cracked his ribs and offered to speak with the man on the call.
"I respect all DSTV employees, but I’ve never worked there. Where I worked was at SuperSport. But let it be a lesson to others even if it’s someone you know, when you write about them as an example, what are you trying to gain? First, stop telling lies. He says I used to install cable in Mombasa and that we struggled together," he shared.
How much does Rashid Abdalla earn?
In other news, Lulu Hassan revealed that she and her husband earned the same salary at Citizen TV.
Lulu had previously revealed that she met Rashid at her lowest moment, and they were both employed on the same day when they travelled to Nairobi.
The two are one of the most admired couples.
