Bomet: High School Principal Speaks after Student Dies, Shares What Happened

Bomet, Kenya: Students, parents and teachers of Saseta Secondary School have been thrown into mourning following the death of young, Brenda Chebet, a Form Three student.

In an official statement from the school, the principal said that Chebet died after an abrupt, illness.

"Chebet was rushed to Litein Hospital at 3.00 am on Tuesday, July 22, after convulsing and experiencing difficulty in breathing. She was resuscitated and referred to South Rift Hospital for a CT scan and brought back to Litein Hospital where she succumbed at 9.00 am on July 23," he said.
"Her parents were informed of her condition on time, and they were all present when she passed on. We extend our sincere heartfelt condolences to her family. We are requesting for your prayers and support at these trying times," he added.

A parent of one of the students at the school extended his deepest condolences to the family of the student who sadly passed on after a short illness.

"We thank the school administration for the swift response during her illness and for keeping parents informed. We also wish to clarify that there is no unrest reported at the school,' he said.
