How Salome Wanjiku's househelp messed up
She revealed that since she worked outside the country, she sent money for shopping, paid school fees, and left the household under Wanjiku’s care, believing she was a loyal guardian.

But what started as a relationship built on trust turned into a nightmare as her children recently began speaking out about mistreatment.
Her youngest son, she said, would sometimes leave the house without breakfast because the househelp stayed up late on TikTok and failed to wake up in time to prepare the boys for school.
“After toiling hard looking for greener pastures, my baby was suffering under someone I trusted wholeheartedly,” she wrote in anguish.
How much did Salome's househelp steal?
The situation escalated when the school called her to clear outstanding fees.
Shocked, she forwarded an M-Pesa payment message she had received from the househelp, only for the teacher to confirm that no such payment had been received.
Further scrutiny revealed the message was a doctored screenshot. Alarmed, the mother began checking other areas and discovered household items worth KSh 200,000 were missing.
They included curtains, carpets, clothing, human hair wigs meant for her mother, and even her son’s brand-new outfits. She suspects Wairimu took these items for her children.

How much reward is Salome Wanjiku offering?
To make matters worse, the househelp allegedly abandoned the children one morning with no food in the house and has since blocked all communication lines.
Now, the aggrieved mother is offering a reward of KSh 20,000 for anyone who can help track down and facilitate the arrest of Josephine Wairimu.
“Let this be a warning to fellow diaspora parents: may we find good guardians for our children,” she urged. “Because when it goes wrong, it hurts deep.”
The accused is said to be active on TikTok despite switching off all known phone numbers. Anyone with information that could lead to her arrest is encouraged to come forward.
Should Salome have trusted her househelp?
Many Kenyans sympathised with Salome's children and the cruelty they had undergone at the hands of the very househelp who should have protected them.
Kenyans overwhelmingly agreed that one should not entrust an outsider such as a househelp, especially if leaving the country for a long time.
Others encouraged her to have the kids under the care of a trusted family member, so that they could feel safe again, even as she is away, hustling to cater to their needs.

"I feel terrible, especially as a mother. I know you're not sleeping. Kindly look for a responsible person as you look for her. I am very sure she knows you're looking for her."

Hey dear. You don't have a kind and caring relative (e.g siblings, etc) who can stay with your boys. This is sad 😭😭. I am a mother of boys, too, and no mother deserves this.
