A dapper-looking elated Rashford appeared with Barcelona's president, Joan Laporta, as he was handed the number 14 shirt.

"I am looking forward to helping, and I want to win trophies. One of the reasons I came is that motivation and the ambition to be a better player. I am really grateful for the welcome that the fans have given me and I can't wait to make my debut in the jersey," he told Barcelona's website.

Rashford's comments on Flick

Rashford, who had been frozen out at Manchester United by Ruben Amorim, spoke highly of his manager Hansi Flick as he hopes to restart his career in Spain.

"The work he did last season was sensational. He has been really important in the whole process."

However, to succeed under the German tactician, Rashford will have to adapt to a set of strict rules Flick has established.

The former Bayern Munich manager led the Blaugrana to a treble and reached the Champions League semi-final in an extremely successful season.

10 rules Marcus Rashford must follow at Barcelona

Spanish publication AS reports that Flick's success was down to a set of rules that Rashford must follow, which he implemented when he took over last year.

1. Arriving 90 minutes before training time

Flick requires his players to arrive at their Ciutat Esportiva training base 90 minutes before training time.

Training often starts at 11am, and the players must therefore be there before 9.30am and have breakfast together.

2. Daily weight control

All players step on the weighing scales daily before training with the results recorded and assessed weekly.

3. Strict nutritional habits

The players must also eat at Ciutat Esportiva. They don't necessarily have to eat all meals together as they have different training plans, but they strictly have to follow a diet plan prepared by the first-team nutritionist Silvia Tremoleda.

4. Intense workouts

Flick has also established intense workouts with the help of Julio Tous.

The players train with a GPS device on their arm that processes all the data on their physical condition. Players spend around five hours per day at Ciutat Esportiva.

5. Matchday warmup

On the morning of match days, Flick organises a small warm-up session to prepare the players for the match.

It is understood he changes his starting XI depending on what he sees after the session.

6. Early meetings on matchday

The players then meet at around 12am at the hotel, even if the game is at their home stadium. This is to avoid unnecessary holdups like traffic and other incidents.

7. Postmatch rest

Flick also eliminated post-match flights that take more than one and a half hours. If a game ends late, they stay overnight in the city they were in to allow the players to rest before flying back the following day.

8. Elimination of fines

Flick has done away with fines and penalties for players arriving late to team meetings and training sessions.

Former manager Xavi Hernandez had heavy fines which increased every minute. The fines were used to pay for team meals or donated to charities.

Flick has replaced this with dropping players from playing. Defender Jules Kounde has found himself on the wrong side of this rule.

9. Limiting off days

Flick is not a big fan of giving off days, giving one per week at most. Playing two or three matches in a week doesn't do him any favours, but he uses the international break to relax this rule.

10. Professional relationship with players

The former German national team manager maintains an open-door policy with his players but doesn't encourage unnecessary friendship.

He makes firm decisions and communicates them clearly.

Why Rashford could be barred from playing for Barcelona

In a related report, Rashford could be prevented from playing for Barcelona despite completing the move to the La Liga giants.

Barcelona are still marred with deep financial issues and face significant problems with registering new players.

They will need to release some players or get alternative sources of revenue to register Rashford.
